Anggoro went to Colorado School of Mines, USA, under a scholarship program for his BS. Petroleum Engineering. He started his career with Caltex (an American company) right after he graduated. His last post in Caltex, 1997, was the Production Engineer for Minas South field, producing around 125,000 BOPD, about 15% of country’s total oil production.

 

His interest in Petroleum Economics brought him to a Graduate program in Finance Management, with a scholarship from the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) in Jogjakarta, Indonesia. Graduated summa-cum-laude, he then worked for a State-Owned-Enterprise Krakatau Steel Group, before he came back to Oil & Gas industry.

 

His career gradually shifted from engineering to business development and management. He worked for Petronas Carigali (Malaysian), HESS (American), Asia Pacific Exploration (American), Mubadala Petroleum (United Arab Emirates), and Ophir Energy (UK) before he formed HerbaTropica in 2021.

 

He is an active member of Association of Petroleum Engineer Indonesia (IATMI), Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN), and Indonesia Exporter Community.
